I am a happily married mom of two darling kids with a full-time art career. While I have both a degree in Cinema Television from USC, a law degree from Loyola Law School and my broker’s license, I have chosen a field of work in something I have never formally studied and I am loving the challenges of taking my ideas and making them a reality. Seven years ago my husband and I decided that I would “retire” from practicing law and stay home to raise our two little kids. When our youngest started kindergarten I found that I was ready to start a new business. Since then I have tried to balance starting an art business with raising two beautiful souls and keep the man in my life happy. I hope this blog can be an outlet for both venting my artistic ideas as wells as documenting my journey as an artist, mother and wife as I endeavor for an extraordinary life.
I have always had a love for all arts whether it be written, photographic, ceramic, sculpture or painting. Both my grandmother and mother are award winning artists and I grew up painting from an early age. I could be a professional student, but at this stage in my life I can’t go back to school. Instead, I have a lovely art studio at home where I experiment with all sorts of glass, canvas, paints of all types, tools and glues, crayons, pastels, cameras, filters, and junky stuff that I love to turn into art. Last year my daughter said I was hogging the studio so she commandeered part of it as her “work area”. So now it’s a family endeavor.
I live in Leucadia, California with my family and am co-founder of Artdivas.net with my mom, Dotty Reiman. I create paintings that cover a broad range of topics from oceanic renderings from traveling and living in San Diego to abstract observations of society.
